Gallaudet is the premier institution of learning, teaching, and research for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Gallaudet University admission is open to a select group of hearing undergraduate students who know American Sign Language and would like to study alongside deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Mary, who is a hearing student, represents only 5% of hearing people accepted into the program.

Mary graduated from HCC with her Associate’s Degree in Sign Language and Interpretation. She currently works as an ASL lab assistant at HCC. ASL Professors Michael Lee, James Virgilio, and Daniel Warthling are proud of Mary’s accomplishments in her education and in working with the deaf community.
