Eight veteran students received $500 scholarships from the San Jacinto College Foundation during the College’s Veteran’s Day celebrations. Each year the Foundation awards two veteran students with scholarships at each of the College’s campuses.

The 2018 San Jacinto College veteran student scholarship recipients are: Central Campus: Brandi Garza, U.S. Marine Corps, and Joseph Delora, U.S. Army. Maritime Campus: Anthony Arrona, U.S. Navy, and Alexander Lawrence, U.S. Marine Corps. North Campus: Irvin Fuller, U.S. Army, and Casey Quarles, U.S. Marine Corps. South Campus: Monique Stigler, U.S. Navy, and Erin Young, U.S. Air Force.

Recently, the College was also named to the Military Times “2019 Best for Vets” list of military friendly colleges and universities across the U.S. The rankings are based on the results of Military Times’ annual survey – the most comprehensive school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services and rates of academic achievement – as well as a detailed review of public data collected by federal agencies. This year’s survey included about 500 colleges and universities with 208 institutions being named to the 2019 list.
