About the Texas Gulf Coast Community Colleges Consortium (TGCCCC)

The Texas Gulf Coast Community Colleges Consortium is a partnership of nine public community colleges along the Texas Gulf Coast collaborating to advance the mission of community college education, train the region’s workforce and enrich the student learning experience.

Together the nine public community colleges of the Gulf Coast Consortium enroll nearly 200,000 students in credit courses – almost one-fourth the total enrollment of all community college students in Texas – and another 60,000 students in non-credit Continuing Education and workforce courses.

These students can obtain 63%* of jobs requiring higher education, earning between $50,000* with an associate degree and $70,000* with a bachelor’s degree.

  • Because of Alvin Community College, I have been able to find a clear route to a successful future. The entire history department offered advice and suggestions on what would be best for my career. I also learned how to work hard and accomplish goals in a consistent and timely manner. These skills have translated into my academic career as well as my social life.

  • COM has the best PTEC program around. We have some of the best instructors. They're very helpful and supportive. The best part is they come from the industry. Without COM, I wouldn't be where I'm at today.

  • At the College of Mainland, I received tons of support, education, and experience through local hospitals and specialized clinics. Their SIM lab is incredible because it is the closest reality that you're going to get and I feel very prepared in the future of any critical care situation.

  • It was important for me to come back to COM after 25 years for a few different reasons. One, I wanted to continue to learn new aspects of the trade. After so long, the industry has grown exponentially. Two, I wanted to have that piece of paper that make me legitimate. And lastly, I went back to school to set an example to my 15 and 13-year-old. I want them to know that you’re never too old to learn.

  • We have all had to make a lot of sacrifices for each other, but every minute of it has been worth it. I am so thankful to the high school and to WCJC for providing this program and for saving us time and money. I truly hope the school continues to offer ROAR and that many more students take advantage of it.

  • It is a good transition between high school and college. ACC is affordable and close to home. While ACC was not my first choice I have come to realize the opportunities I will have by attending a college close to home and am excited to explore and take full advantage of all provided.
